A large portion of this ridge, the focal point of
the
Battle of Brandy Station and the opening battle of the
Gettysburg campaign, is now FOR SALE at a price of
nearly three million dollars!
In the
desperate cavalry fighting on Fleetwood Heights and
adjacent plains, the Union forces tested the best
cavalry the southern army had and this battlefield must
be saved.
The
destiny of this critical portion of the battlefield is
in our hands. Whether you had ancestors who fought
there or not, the Brandy Station Foundation needs the
help of all the Sons of Union Veterans to preserve this
hallowed ground.
The Foundation is asking all Sons of Union Veterans and
Sons of Confederate Veterans camps across the country to
join us and contribute $500.00 per camp (or more) to
this effort. Don’t let this opportunity to honor
the courage of your ancestors pass by.
Please!
Answer the call, just as they did on that bloody day
in June, 1863.
